#282 that I got in

I got the call this week that I got accepted into a masters degree program in writing for children that I have been coveting for years.  It was always, “When Husband is finished decorating his wall with diplomas, then I can start working on mine.”  Only I got tired of waiting and told him on a whim last month I was going to apply.  He didn’t blink and said, “Go for it.  We’ll figure it out.”

Let’s see how he feels about this in January when he’s doing all the laundry and carpooling, huh?

Anyway, it’s nice to get a good news phone call.  And doubly nice to have something to feel excited about.  I don’t think I’ve felt excited like this since we were waiting to adopt each kid.  There’s something pretty exciting (and terrifying) about that whole process.  And I guess starting a degree that you really want is the same way.
