one year of being thankful

#270 chocolate pumpkin bread

October 19, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I usually bake this twice every fall – largely because Husband can’t contain the drool when he walks in the door and smells this.  We like it cold for breakfast – warm with whipped creme or ice cream for dessert.  And very, very chocolatey.  6 said today when he took his first bite, “Mmmmm.  But I think we need less pumpkin and more chocolate next time.”

This year the boys made it.  I stood there and helped them figure out the fractions for measurements but they did it all.  Even the clean-up – which is a miracle.  It took all morning because they play in the sink while scrubbing pans, but it was worth it.  The house smelled great, our tummies were sweetened, and everyone was happily and busily occupied.

I love fall.
