one year of being thankful

#97 The Husband

Well, today’s his birthday.  So I guess I gotta be thankful for him.  (Only half-kidding here.)

Here’s the e-card I sent him.

In case you don’t get it, go read some Shakespeare.  And also it’s funny because he knows I have fantasies about killing him.  (Again, this is a half-joke.)  So I am sure he was both amused and relieved.

In our family, the birthday person gets to choose the restaurant.  So tonight we ate at Applebee’s…so he could watch the big screen TVs as the NCAA brackets were announced.  Good clean quality time there, let me tell you.

Husband and I met when we were 19.  That sounds young, doesn’t it?  This summer we will have our 10th wedding anniversary.  Yikes.

I snagged a good husband for the most part.  He’s really a nice person when it comes right down to it.  And I keep him around because he gets me anything I want at any time of day or night.  (He’s kind of like a slightly bald pool boy when I think about it.)  He’s still kind of cute.  But don’t tell him I said so.  And he laughs at me a lot.  Which always makes me feel better.   Plus he has really warm hands.  When my back hurts, I just say, “Lay your hands on me.”  (Which isn’t as dirty as it sounds, sadly.)  He’s like my own personal heating pad.

I’m glad I married him.  And I’m glad he had a birthday today so that FINALLY I can stop being older than he is.
